richjb1 - did you ever get an answer to this? I am looking at using HP Openview to monitor multiple BES as well.

There is a Blackberryserver.MIB file you should be able to plug into pretty easy with SNMP.

Thumbs up NeedTEXT and HP OpenView Integration

Our product NeedTEXT Monitor for BlackBerry Enterprise Server can do exactly this. It generates SNMP traps on administrator defined critical BlackBerry events that can be forwarded to HP Openview (or any SNMP based management framework).

The administrator can set up thresholds on specific points of interest within BES (i.e. Message queues, SRP, Blackberry users state etc.) and be notified in the Open View console when those thresholds are exceeded. This provides you with more control over WHAT or WHO you choose to monitor. We also maintain our own MIB that can be easily plugged into OV.

Note that our solution does monitor multiple BES.

Take a look at needtext.net or contact me for details

Default HP OpenView BES SPI

nworks will shortly be releasing the SPI for BES. It will work with Exchange or Notes based systems and drives data into OpenView Operations - Unix or Windows. We're looking for beta customers and if you have any interest there please feel free to shoot me an email - [email address].

nworks has been creating OpenView SPI's for over a decade and our current offerings cover Domino/Notes and VMware. The BlackBerry SPI leverages the BRK to provide extensive log file monitoring, performance thresholding, and handheld device monitoring. A datasheet is available if you are interested - it's not on the website yet - but I can get you an advance copy if you like.

Thanks!!

Mike
