I talked to telus about evdo and one guy said soon and another one said something like just wait a little longer. How do I upgrade to 4.1?

Bell Mobility is 4.1.0.329/4.1.0.303. Telus Mobility is 4.1.0.314/4.1.0.292.

As for the Zen theme, etc., it is NOT available on the 72xx devices - don't expect to see it either. The only carrier-released themes available for the 72xx devices, short of the default icons theme, are ones from Bell Mobility, Orange France and Vodafone.

If you want to unlock those themes, you should be able to use the BlackBerry.alx file that I posted for the Bell Mobility handheld software.

For those of you who are not on Telus, I wouldn't worry about installing this if you've already installed the Bell Mobility handheld software.

I loaded the theme too, I had the sprint one originally. There is no difference. I just loaded it in case the 7250 goes 1XEV and I didn't want any complications. Mind you my work tech people weren't impressed that i had to do another Enterprise activation because all the desktop services were removed again. Is there any way around this?

you should be able to do an enterprise activation w/o needing any involvement from your tech services/support group. as long as you have your mail profile configured with desktop manager, it should do it for you.

onetimeuse - can you take me through a step by step? i'm clueless -

You will need to have the 4.1 Desktop software and then the new Telus software. Once you have both installed you can connect your device to your computer and start the Desktop Manager. If you choose 'Application Loader' and then step through there it will prompt you to upgrade your software.

Let me know if you need more information,

Thanks,

It is my understanding that you need Desktop Manager 4.1 to load the new Blackberry O/S.

Thanks,

I don't think you would be able to. Your home machine would be the best one to administer the device with and do any upgrades.

Thanks,

Thanks. Actually. I just had 4.0 desktop installed in my work computer. I can't upgrade to 4.1 as the adminstrators uses 4.0 to managed the bbs. So far, i've had no problem hooking my my bb 7250 to my work computer running 4.0, I just can't install apps per controls from the administrators. It also works fine with my desktop manager on my home computer running 4.1 desktop. Now i'm just waiting for telus to upgrade to EVDO on the 7250.

The reason your tech's at work might be mad is because you will have to have them reset your activation password and reactivate the device. It will then have to copy down address book, email, calendar, etc. Provided you are setup for full-wireless sync.

I'm setup for full wireless sync. Yeah, every time i upgraded the OS the BB would remove the desktop service and all relevant service books for my corp email. Only way to get them back was to do another enterprise activation. To do this, i had to call my tech support each time

Now that I have my Desktop manager setup at work and linked to my email profile, i'm hoping that if that happens again, i can just hook up my bb to the computer and it will reactivate the desktop service and resend all service books. Which i'm assuming i can???
