Default Google talk hanging

Please Login to Remove!

Got an error coming up in google talk in random. Previously a reset would sort it out. Now it wont go away... and its appearing in my mail inbox when it shows google talk messages.

It just says "command failed" every time i start it.

Try pull the battery trick. I don't use "Show Conversations in Message List" and never have a problem with it..

Ok I reinstalled but I am still getting this error. Please tell me somebody has a cure for this?

When I did the reinstall I had trouble getting rid of google talk. I deleted the application from the applications list but when I restarted I found that it was still running and just not listed in the apps list.

Having the same problem. This is pretty annoying. Turning off the message list option was no help. After awhile I get "Uncaught exception: process net_rim_bb_qm_google (###) killed due to message queue overflow"

Blechhhh!

I have also been having this problem recently. I have tried a couple of different jabber servers however I am still encountering the error. A lot of the time when "command failed" comes I am either in my message list or in Google Talk itself however this error I can not get out of except with a hard reset or battery pull.

I have turned off auto sign in so when I do restart it will not auto log on however this error is becoming more increasingly annoying.

I'm getting this one somtimes too :(

I'm starting to think that it's a problem on RIMs side, that google made some changes to google talk and rim has not updated their client yet..

but I have no facts to base this on

This sucks. I uninstalled the client entirely, which was not easy (google "uninstall blackberry google talk" for instructions), then tried to reinstall.

And I can't reinstall. There's now a server error at the download location.

My first big frustration with google. Should I be mad at RIM or Google? Who (if anyone) supports this client?

To all experiencing this problem, if you are using GT with jabber transport servers to connect to other networks like aol and msn, I solved this issue by changing servers. Fisrt unregister from current servers and find one that is stable enough for you and re-register, that should do it. No need to blame Google nor RIM .

List of servers: http://www.jabber.org/network/oldnetwork.shtml

Good Luck.

Aw, I should have suspected as much. The box I had miranda on has died a horrible death. Is there any way I can tell the anywise jabber server to forget all about me? I've changed my AOL password, but so far that hasn't helped.

Yes. There is a way to unsubscribe from a server, just use a client that allows telnet conections and through a series of xml comands you can do it, I've seen some info on the topic somewhere here. May be search would help?

I switched from anywise to netlab.cz for aim and nedbsd.nl for msn, and everything's smooth for me.

I'm getting the "net_rim_bb_qm_google(???) killed due to message queue overflow" error as well. I went through the tutorial and added all my msn/aim/icq/yahoo to my gmail through that jabber transport thingy..

I have over 300 contacts between each of those messengers.. the error seems pretty self explanitory to me that its having a problem processing the large number of contacts on startup. The client worked for me when I already had it loaded as I was loading up my google talk account with the different jabber transports. I wanted to make sure it fully worked so i exited the client and came back in and it crashed on load of the contact list.

I think that the problem would definately be on googles side, not blackberry. Within their client they seem to have either a built in limit on contacts or some timeout setting where it either processes the list entirely or gives up? I just reinstalled the latest version of google talk as of today (7/13/06) and no luck.

Lightbulb Figured it out

Ok the command failed error comes up for each contact that you have.

its not that it never goes away its that another pops up right in its place. You have to hit the ok button for each contact that you have. If you have alot of contacts, this could take awhile. But once i got through my list of contacts it google talk worked fine.

I am using transports for AIM, MSN and Yahoo. So far they all seem to be working. I am trying to diffrent option to see if its a paticular option that causes this issue.
