Guys,

I have just bought a brand new 8707v from eBay and am just trying to get everything up and running.

I'm at work and have not installed any software on to my home PC as yet so please let me know whether some of these issues will be resolved once that is done.

1. E-mail: I've signed up on mobileemail.vodafone.net and have my username and password for the Internet Service e-mail option rather than the enterprise one. What do I need to do on the Blackberry now? The manual says something about clicking Mobile E-mail but unless I'm being real blind (Possible) I can't seem to see it anywhere.

2. Browser: In the Menu I don't seem to have Browser. Any ideas why?

3. Host Routing Table: When I spoke to Vodafone as I didn't seem to have any Vodafone Live stuff on the phone they pointed me here. All it said was No entries but I did select Register Now and it sent something somewhere. Was that the right thing to do?

Go back to the Vodafone email website where you told it your device PIN and setup your account. Then, somewhere under "Profile" on that site you will see a button that says: "Send Service Book"

Once you have done that wait about 5 mins. Your device should receive it and send you a welcome message. Once you have that you can then start sending / receiving emails.

(of course, you need to ensure your SIM card is already Blackberry enabled by calling Vodafone, but you did that already right??)

I've done that thanks. Just waiting for it to hopefully come through.

One thing I'm worried about is that on my home screen it says I've got 3G coverage and I can make/receive calls and Messages but it says "Data Connection Refused" at the top. Is that a bad sign?

Any ideas on the other issues?

Follow up - you must have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account - no other plans (GPRS, web mail, whatever) matter with a BB. It has to be a BB data plan.

Without a BlackBerry Data Plan you will get the Data Connection Refused error message and will only have voice and text messaging available.

Yes and it costs additional money.

No BB data plan, no browser, no e-mail, no data....

Thanks but Service Book included activation Internet Browser Service?

I have 8707v without Internet Browser Service.

Service e-mail full working.
