I'm looking at getting a new cell phone / PDA device and I REALLY like BlackBerry. From what I understand, only one model of 7100 with version 4.1 supports Bluetooth syncing. That's a huge turn off for me, since I think Bluetooth is great and would want to sync that way. I'm just curious, is that something that could be possibly added in an OS upgrade in the future? Or is that feature built into the hardware, so if I get a 7100t, I'd never be able to Bluetooth sync? Thanks so much.
I'm confused. I thought that ALL models of the BB with BT could do BT sync, assuming the host (PC/laptop) had the right drivers. Not just one model of 7100. Any BB with Bluetooth.
nj is right , any BB with 4.1 code and BT capabilities can sync with BT if you have 4.1 desktop manager. although i dont see the reason why would would want to if your on a BES and even if your not its faster to just do it wired since BT range isnt that great
My vehicle has the ability to transfer an address book from a Bluetooth enabled device to my vehicles address book. Everytime I try and do a transfer my BB 7130e disconnects itself. I can answer calls and make calls via the phone through my car. Any thoughts on how to transer the Phone book?
Verify that in your Bluetooth Options (Settings/Bluetooth/Options) you have Address Book Transfer set to all items. If so, you may be timing out (a colleague of mine here says that the Treos will time out and that you need to adjust the BAUD rate so that both devices communicate at similar speeds, but I don't see that option on the Blackberry).
If you already have all items selected, try just syncing the hotlist. Could be that your address book is just too darn big for your car.
