Exclamation BES (exchange) v4.1 policy conflict

Please Login to Remove!

When assigning a user to a newly created policy, waiting for the new policy to take effect, then assigning the user back to the unedited Default policy, the Blackberry unit does not return to normal “default” functionality.
For example, under a new policy, if Allow peer-to-peer messages, Enable WAP config, and Allow other message services are disabled, these functions are removed after sync'ing, but once the user is assigned to the Default policy (which has not been edited), those functions do not return unless the new policy is deleted, and the default policy is resent.

Has anyone else seen this so far? I know this does not happen with v4.0

Known Issues - User-specific IT Policy fields must be set on a per-user basis using BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1
Last Updated: 28 April 2006
Article Number: KB-05078

Problem
When using BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1, user-specific fields can only be set on a per user basis, rather than globally.

As a result of this, after upgrading to BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 from 4.0, the user-specific fields in the IT Policy for BlackBerry 7270™ devices revert to the default values. These fields include the following Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Virtual Private Network (VPN), and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) fields:

SIP user ID
SIP user password
SIP user display name
VPN user name
VPN user password
WLAN user name
WLAN user password
Workaround
Manually set the user-specific fields for the IT Policy.

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
