Has anyone else experienced this issue? I had my Gmail account being forwarded to my Cingular Blackberry address, and all of a sudden on Sunday it stopped working.

Gmail reports that there is a problem with the address, despite my not having touched those settings for weeks. I'm still able to send Emails from my Blackberry Web Client, and messages sent to my @mycingular.blackberry.net address push to my Blackberry with no problems - just no Gmail forwarding.

Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know about forwarding, but I use the Web Client to check my gmail inbox and that is working fine today...

I use the POP feature to forward my mail to my web client through TMobile and it's been working just fine. Maybe you should switch it to the POP way instead of just forwarding the messages?

The only thing I remember Mark saying about POP is the poll time is 15 minutes. With Gmail everyone has recommended forwarding b/c the email delivery is instant.

I don't experiance the 15 minutes delay. I am using gMail's POP and my Cingular Web Client. I have been logged into gMail with the icon in my service tray on my PC. I see the notification pop up and a few seconds later I have gMail on my BB.

Steve - so you have gmail POP to blackberry.net? Someone posted about using gmail filters/forwarding to eliminate spam. Do you get lots of spam?

I have sbcglobal.net POP to blackberry.net, but I just got a new Gmail account so I'm not sure if I should integrate it to blackberry.net or use forwarding filters, etc or just leave it alone?

The easiest is to setup gmail to forward a copy of every email to your blackberry.net account. (No pop setup in blackberry.net needed)

Gmail's filtering is also very powerful so you can choose not to forward some of the emails as well..

It sounds as if he's using POP to Outlook and Redirector to his handheld, assuming that its instant delivery to his handheld. No need to be confused. Flat out, POP accounts on the handheld poll every 15 minutes, as mentioned. The email delivery will not be instant. The reply above this one does define the easiest and best method to receive your GMail email onto your handheld in the quickest fashion (unless you use the POP+Redirector method, which its dependability relies on a desktop with Outlook to be up and working 100% of the time with an internet connection that has no downtime... too many variables when you can just simply use forwarding and be done with it, in my opinion).

No, I don't have G-Mail, I use a different domain. But, basically, I called the ISP and told them to forward my messages to my carrier.blackberry.net account. I do not POP or poll my third-party account.

you probably forwarded a couple of big files that filed up your bwc inbox.

Gmail forwarding is very sensitive, if it's a bounced message (from bwc being full) it will simply stop forwarding and then lock the account out for a day or two.

I have complained several times to gmail to fix the problem, they confirmed it exists.

Just tell me why bwc can't add a spam filter like 99% of the other webbased email services?

I used to have the 15 minute delay when the bwc was set to get gmail, but i upgraded to Desktop4.0 and OS4.0 and it typically took less than 5 minutes. Oddly, while writing this post i did a test message and it took 23 minutes (?)

Desktop and handheld OS make NO difference on POP integration.

Like jibi said, POP accounts are polled every 15 mintues. If you get a message in your gmail account and the polling timer is at 14.5 minutes, then you only wait half a minute, but if it comes in and it was polled just 2 seconds ago, you are looking at a 15 minute wait.

You can double check the deleted items folder on your web account and make sure there is nothing huge being held in there. If you are running low on space and that's why the gmail forwarding isn't working anymore.

you can try disabling forwarding on gmail, then re-enable it.

LASTLY.... it took you 23 minutes to type that post?
