Default Getting Telenav on Sprint 8703e

Please Login to Remove!

After numerous calls to Sprint and Telenav, I'm getting closer to having Telenav added to my Sprint account, but no luck. The lastest I was told was that the codes cannot be added to my account since I don't have a Vision plan, but have a Blackberry plan. She reached deep into Sprint tech support and was told that no Sprint BB supports Telenav, but only Nextel. She was nice enough to give me the codes to add the service in case I find someone that can make it happen. The codes she gave me were:

PDSDRIVE 4 CDMA
1ST MO FREE TELENAV

If anyone gets this added, please respond. This is Sprint craziness!!

Sprint is clueless. I called tech support and he said there was no such thing as a Sprint 8703. Then i tell him to go look again, finally he looked and confirmed they do have it.

Check my review I just posted for more details about it.
I called, and Stephan Moore is not in today :(

bit_bucket, if you read this, maybe there is a way we can tell sprint to match what they did for you?

What is strange is that I cant find where it is on my account. The guy I dealt with last night at Telenav gave me the 4 digit password to my account, and I have been using the service ever since. I am guessing the sprint computers are slow to register changes, and thier employees are slow to know anything about this device.

What I can say is TeleNav is totally sweet. I went out to my car today and inputed in my work address and told it to take roads only (IE no Highways). It stayed connected to GPS most of the time and routed me through the back roads of Indiana. It knew every road I was on no matter how small. So I take a very wierd route, which deviates from the route on the device and it quickly re-routes without trouble. It lists speed, direction, road Im on, upcomming road and turn and time left in trip. It was almost right on with everything. It got the time right to within seconds. This is totally worth the 10 bucks a month. Now if only Sprint could get a cure for their enal craniel inversion, all of you would be enjoying this as much as me!

i work at a Sprint Nextel store. Althought I'm not in Sales, so i do not know what codes to configure the service, I will look in to it tomorrow.

If Bit_bucket trusts me you can email or Pm you Mobile # and I can see exactly how your service were configured. \

If you do not trust me, I understand since I'm very skeptical about people over the 'net too.

I just paid a visit to Telenavs website and discovered the following.

Just point your BB browser to http://ota.telenav.com/ota/tn/ and download the app. You will automatically be billed 9.99$ every month for the service.

post back and lets us all knkow if it does/doesn't work for you.

That site does not identify the 8703e.

I got my telenav working today with some great help from this board.

When I look at my settings on my new telenav account I see that I am listed as using the Sanyo 8300... I assume this is the temporary fix, so anyone who wants to try to see if theirs works this way should try.. mine works great!

I noticed the Telenav list of supported phones was not listing the 8703e.

I would imagine that telenav would run on current Java enabled phones that use Assisted GPS and see them all the same.

nico2001 did you subscribe to Telnav thru your device or by contacting Sprint and having the service added?

Telenav added it for me after finally getting someone who knew of the 8703e.. someone should list their phone as the Sanyo through the telenav site and report back on whether or not it works!

Is anyone having success getting Sprint to add Telenav to the accounts? I talked with the Blackberry folks at Sprint and he put me on hold for a long time and came back and said that Sprint is absolutely not support Telenav and to call Telenav directly. This is SO frustrating!!

Had a 52 minute phone call with Telenav today with a rep named Brian, (very nice guy BTW) who called Sprint almost as soon as I told him that I had a Sprint 8703e. He explained (during the hold times while waiting to talk to no less then 5 different Sprint folks) that Telenav's part of the problem is that the rep's have no way of directly billing the customer for the service since the phone is so new. Sprints problem is that they have NO way (as of today) to add the Telenav service to the Vision - blackberry unlimited plan. That their computer system rejects the addition saying that it is an incompatible data plan for Telenav. We talked to the useless regular support then onto tier 2 twice then onto Sprint Blackberry support then finally onto billing. All 5 folks had the same problem of the computer not allowing the addition to my plan. The call ended with Brian telling me that he was escalating the issue within Telenav so that they can bill directly vs. going through Sprint. (although he is unsure if that will work with a Sprint Blackberry) Kinda of a annoying ordeal since I had Telenav when I used Nextel and the sign up process was as easy as pie. Guess that is what we get for getting Sprints newest offerings.

The customer service rep. at Telenav just let me put it on my credit card rather than try to get it on my Sprint bill.

I was going to post the specific codes needed to add Telenav to a Sprint account but it seems the issue is a conflict with Sprints BB plan and the codes. I'm sure they will resolve the conflict with the Sprint BB plan and Telenav's billing codes in due time.

Here they are anyways.

· Sprint PCS Users – Add both the Telenav P2K code (PDSDRIVE 4_CDMA) and the Telenav Promotion

code (1ST MO FREE TELENAV)**

**1st month free is a promotion they can/will expire sometime in the future.

Hey, is everyone just trying to get the program onto the phone because you can do that by going to web, GPS apps, and it has the 8703e listed. Pass that point you have to register the account through the program and it works fine. I did port the number from Nextel so I already had a username and password created for the program. Hope this helps some.

Default Impossible

Yeah its pretty much impossible to get sprint to add telenav on. I talked to at least 15 different reps today and not one person knew how to do it. Most of them said the 8703e couldnt do it, which is incorrect because when you download telenav it specifically says 8703e. I called telenav, and they spoke to 3 sprint reps, none of which had a clue. So i just said screw it and i billed it to a credit card and it worked instantly.

After going thru who knows how many hours with tech support, called TeleNav and got it to run. I'm thinking it was a waste of time. I'll try to get MapQuest FindMe, liked it much better.
