Default Can't Open Email Attachments

Please Login to Remove!

Up until this afternoon I was able to open email attachments on my 8700G. I tried to open a jpg and it said "Unknown Error" and gave me a red X next to the picture. I go back to my inbox and the message is bolded (indicating I haven't opened it...but I have).

I tried restarting and pulling the battery out and resending service books with no luck.

Ideas?

Which email address / service do you use?
I had issues with the attachments came to my gmail account. I would get a red "x" next to the picture. Somehow, I can open the pictures without any issues now.

Being that it's been mentioned that the problem was on blackberry.net accounts, just a quick word about them.

If you're on BIS 2 (that is, you have NO access to your email other than on your BlackBerry), and really even if you're still on BIS 1x, it's not a great idea to use this email address as a WORKING email address. The main reason is that there is NO SPAM FILTERING done by BlackBerry, and even if there were (which at this point would be a mistake), you have no way of seeing what's being filtered!

Your best bet is to get a Gmail or Yahoo account. Gmail accounts are all free, and I believe now even free Yahoo accounts work with BlackBerry. Both services have excellent SPAM filtering which prevents it from reaching your BlackBerry, but you can still check what's been filtered and make sure there's nothing in there that shouldn't be. (Gmail's seems to be more accurate as my Yahoo email regularly identifies non SPAM as SPAM - even for users in my address book!)

In fact, on my BIS setup, I have my blackberry.net email address set up to NOT forward to my BlackBerry unless the email comes from my company's domain, my wife's company's domain, my wife, and my children, and my email addresses too. I've never given it out or used it. In fact the only reason I use it is to email my BlackBerry documents or pictures.
