i want to create a webservice running on the BES, and would like to access it from a java application running on my blackberry. the problem is that soap services create a lot of traffic. i have heard that if you use wbxml, the traffic can be greatly reduced, as the actual data transfer is binary and not xml. now i am aware of the MDS studio, which does all this for you, but i do not want to create my application through the MDS studio, as the application must be invoked from within one of the standard blackberry apps (i.e. the addressbook).
does anybody have a sample of how this can be done? or does anyone know where i can find some more info on how to do this?
