Default T-Mobile EDGE down?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm in Northern VA and this morning at 0600 I lost EDGE and went to GSM. I tried to pull the battery and resend service books and I still couldn't get EDGE back. At about 0815 GSM went to "edge" and then 20 minutes later went to "EDGE". At this point I was able to recieve my emails but I could not access any data (web browser or IM+) or send emails. I pulled the battery back out and resent service books and same deal. Anyone else having this problem? I get EDGE (after 15-20mins stuck at GSM) but can't send data.

All is working in Austin. Have you called customer service to see if you maybe have a local outage?

FWIW, they said the same about EDGE suddenly dropping at my house a few months back. It had worked there since before they commercially launched the service up until that point. Whenever I went home, it dropped to GPRS. They said there were no network issues on multiple occasions. One day it just started back working. Turns out they had some faulty equipment. Just to note, I can see the darn tower from my home (about 1/4 mile down the road, if that).

...with that said, I would call back and talk to someone else. It sounds like they likely had some maintenance in your area on your towers for the data equipment. Explain to them that you don't want any sort of outage credit to your bill and just want to know if it was planned maintenance and if you should expect any more downtime. If there is/was an actual issue, unless you're a large company or they have many complaints for that particular area/tower, it's very doubtful that they'll roll a truck out to investigate on a single complaint.

I think we have ascertained that it is not a nationwide outage...

EDGE is down here in Arlington VA as of 1:50 AM. It was down this morning, but it was up when I went to work in Fairfax. Came back home and it was and still is down.

Seems that it is confined to Arlington pretty much.

It was probably just where you were. Sometimes when I go in my computer room, I lose signal or EDGE, edge, etc... Then when I come back into the kitchen after a few minutes it cycles back to EDGE from wherever it was.
