Exchange5.5 slowdown after BES - mailbox polling interval?

We have BES4.0 with Exchange5.5 and 30 users with 7250s. Around the time of the BES rollout (last week) our Exchange server has slowwwed down. Could this be the mailbox polling interval? Where can I adjust that setting? BES and Exchange are in the same room. How can I measure the load that the BES is putting on the Exchange server?(cheap) All the PIM syncs are enabled but they want that stuff. Cube dwellers are grumbling, boss is frowning, blackberries are happy.
