Please Login to Remove!

Looking BB Manager, Out of 59 users I have 6 that I am not getting the following information:

BlackBerry Device Model
Platform Version
BlackBerry Version
Phone Number
Serial Number
Home Network
Carrier
Security Password
Memory

Any thoughts on what I need to do?

My first post.

I've never had this problem, but I would suggest supplying your BES version and your mail server type. Also, is the problem isolated to one model of BB, or is it random over several models?

Are those pre-4.0 handhelds?

I just brought a 4.1 BES online myself, being forced to migrate from 2.2 for Domino due to the DST issue.

I like the new interface, features, and wireless activation but it's all a brave new world...

You need to perform a Enterprise Activation (EA). That information will not show up until perform an EA on the device.

In the case of the BES 2.2 upgrade to 4.1. There will be no info until the devices are updated to handheld software v4.x and EA is done.

Can I ask how well EA works in general? Obviously I'm coming from a situation where I had to install Desktop Manager and manually sync mail and the PIM items using BBDM. I need to build trust in the new way.

In my initial testing of both fresh EA's and migrations of existing users from the old server, it's going very well. I'm considering not even loading BBDM for new users. For address book I'm using the technique to sync the address book from the client to iNotes (Actions, Sync Address Book).

I've also had luck building my first Software config and pushing it to the handhelds on the 4.1 BES (the DST patch)

There are two options for EA: USB and Wireless. USB is very similar to the 2.2 method of assigning BB to the BES. Wireless EA sometimes is a pain because it relies on coverage, signal, etc. From my reading the preferred method is wireless EA because that process does some things that the USB process doesn't do.

With BES the only need for the Desktop Manager is to perform backup and load software.

Default Additional Information

All the devices are 7290's, but the funny thing is that they are working. Do I have to redo Enterprise Activation?
BES Manager is 4.1

How is everybody doing on the DST upgrades on devices?

Works VERY well for us. We perform EA on 100% of our devices. In fact, we don't even give our end users the software or the USB cable. Everything is wireless. Rarely have I encountered a device that couldn't be activated.

I recommend you study the wireless EA process Doc ID : KB10578. Its a good read and provides a better understanding as to what you see on the BES screen and the Blackberry screen.

Yeah....I've used Wireless EA and worked fine for me. Does this have to be done periodically, because I never had missing information before.
Attached is my doc with screenshot.

If reactivating is the answer, what is the best way to do it? Whipe out the device first?

Thanks
BTW DarthBBerry....nice pic.
