Hi all,

Can anyone think of any reasons why my BES blackberry can send new emails, receive emails, but not reply to any emails?

The error message I get when replying to an email is:

"Desktop Email program unable to submit message".

This is even after ensuring that "send as" privileges are set correctly.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Re-check your 'send as' permissions/configuration. Might want to go to the properties of that user and verify they have 'send as' permissions enabled. In my case, I had two users who had propogation disabled. I checked that box and it pulled them down just fine and they were working once again.

i had a similar problem. i did a temp fix as follows:
in the users AD account within the Exchange general tab then delivery options
add the user own self to the send on behalf.
also resend the service book to the device from the blackberry server.

it resolved my problem where the user could not send emails

Had the similar error just 2 days ago ....

"Desktop email program was unable to submit an email message"

Deleted Desktop {SYNC} and Regenerated Encryption key from HH. Also Reloaded the user on the BES v4.1 sp2; and Resent service books to no avail.

I don't have access to the EXCHANGE server (just a junior admin that had his first taste of the BES not really an admin at all).

Fixed,

In Active Directory, user was member of Domain Admins which stuffed up inheritence...

My member isn't part of the Admin Group though. Cannot figure out what is going on wrong.

Weird thing is is that my user on the BES states that last sent email was for todays date - but the problem has been ongoing for more than 3 days now. Getting lost all up in this.

The failed message will still show up as a sent message on the BES, oddly enough.
