Default Temporarily turn off BIS on Verizon 8703e

Please Login to Remove!

When I'm home during the day, I have no need for my BIS (POP personal account) to push to my 8703e. Is there are way to turn it off from the handheld short of deleting the account from BIS?

I'm on Verizon with 4.1.0.344 software.

Thanks!

Mike

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

No. But at the end of each day you can click on that date and delete prior, and it will delete ALL mail/messages from that point past.

Right, but since it's POP email, it's gone from my server once BIS picks it up, so I can't get it on my PC anymore.

I Suppose I'll just deal with it via the BIS website.

It will not be deleted from the server as long as you say "delete from handheld only". Also when you hit "delete prior" mail in only deleted from the handheld. At least that is the way it is with my Cingular set up.

Mail stays on the server as far as I know. It is just pushed to the BB by RIMM. I have my Outlook set up to remain on the server for 2 days. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Ditto what Dubdub says... I have POP email via BIS also. I don't delete from the server when my BB oushes mail, I have it set to only delete from server when I delete from my desktop via Outlook.

If nothing else you could setup a "home" profile that would mute all emails recieved. Then you could go through and delete once a day or something. Atleast you wouldn't run the risk of deleting something you still needed.

Then set one up, mute all other applications, and enable only the phone to ring, that is how my stock PHONE ONLY profile is setup.

Are you looking to temporarily turn off email delivery or avoid getting messages during the day altogether? There are several ways to temporarily disable email delivery (disable data, etc) but in a lot of those cases email will still queue and will be delivered once you re-enable.

Your best bet is to just set the default filter on the BIS site for each account to not forward. However, you'll need to log into your carrier's BIS site and check/uncheck to toggle and remember to do this for each account. The BB just really isn't designed to have push turned off and on.
