Default Policy and Delivery issue - gearing up for DST

Please Login to Remove!

All Microsoft patches have been complete and I have created a software configuration package for the new DST update program which I plan on pushing wirelessly. My issue is that the delivery method is locked into 'Wireline Only' with no option to change it. I also can't change the Policy; it is set to 'none'. I CAN change the policy at the top level 'Application Software' but that is it. Not sure why I can't edit these fields but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am on BES 4.0 for Exchange and the devices are Verizon 7130e version 4.1

I have a screenshot of my issue but I can't post it due to new member restrictions. Can someone post my screenshot link for me in this thread? The link is: w w w. akacali.com/BB/BBDST.jpg

Nice and easy, upgrade your BES to SP6 RIM said that right at the start of all this but it got buried. Luckily I saw it and upgraded last weekend and all is good.

Default Thanks

I will give that a try. I am currently on Service Pack 4.0.4.7 which I beleive is service pack 4 hotfix 1. Can I go straight to SP6 or do I have to do SP5 then SP6? and if I had to install SP5 first do I have to do all the HF's as well, even for SP4?

SPs and HFs are cumulative. Therefore, you can go from 4.0.4.7 to 4.0.6 all in one shot. (Thats what I did last week.)
Basically, you have 2 installs ahead of you.
1. Upgrade to SP6
2. Install HF4
DONE!

Now to put that darn patcher to work.....

This may sound dumb but I can find SP6 however I do not see a HF4 for SP6. In fact I see zero HF's for SP6.

Maybe your server is allergic to HFs? (j/k)
Blackberry Downloads and select your server type from the list.
Enjoy!

HA! thats the problem.

I am on Exchange 2003 with BES 4.0. It looks like I only have the option for SP6.

SP6 is supposed to fix my 'Wireline Only' problem right? That is why this post started.

You are fine if you are on Exch, it's just SP6. DarthBB is a weird Domino admin, just tell him to go play with Notes :-> (you know I luv ya really Darth )

This will fix your wireline prob. Trust me, I'm a sysadmin Just make sure you read the pre-instal docs first to ensure you have done the right backups, device cleaning etc. It's all in the docs which reside with the SP. Whole operation should take no more than 30 mins per server (including the pre work). I bounce the box afterwards just to be sure.

You should upgrade to BlackBerry Enterprise Server
software version 4.0 Service Pack 5 or later before
completing this procedure.

That's from the Deploying BlackBerry Device Software for Daylight Saving Time 2007 PDF "Setting up a Software Configuration" chapter.

I agree that you should go straight to SP6 but RIM only requires a minimum of 5 to configure a wireless push as described in their doc.

I've done a jump from BB SP1 straight through to SP5 HF4 in one sitting. The only issue I had was as a result of not bouncing the BES server one last time after the last HF.
