hey...look...i type mini.opera.com on my bb811
I click on DOWNLOAD...
i chose to donwload it from WAP...
Selected blackbery 8100....

after that, i click on OPERA-MINI-ADVANCED.ZIP but it says UNSOPPORTED MEDIA TYPE: APPLICATION/ZIP...

what link should i press to install it to my bb8100 ???!!!


also...i downloaded that ZIP to my pc and it has two files (operette-hifi.alx and operette-hifi.cod), where are they supposed to go in my bb?

did you change your TCP settings? check that, go to options/advanced/TCP and the id should be wap.voicestream.com password is left blank

ok i went to the browser in my bb and typed mini.opera.com in GO TO and then....what are the links that i should follow to donwload it....


somehow i cant get it

That page asks you for your cell number to send the link to. Did you do what the page asked?

yeah..it gave me a link which was the same as mini.opera.com

Your file format is a zip file, zips can't be downloaded to a bb. Try to download the .jad format see what happens.

I have downloaded Opera Mini for the Blackberry Pearl 8100. I have installed it and ran the connectivity check. Of course, Opera says it has "failed to connect." So if I were to add "wap.voicestream.com," and leave the username & password blank, it would be able to connect? But by doing this will the default browser still function?

yes, however, there are different TCP settings for each carrier. Wap.voicestream.com is for TMobile users.

Hi I am on orange and cannot get the opera install tests to connect either. Has anyone had this issue? I also cannot access the mobile.blackberry.com site which I assume that Orange have blocked.

Do you see a white, black, and blue screen, or something totally different?

Becuase if you see the former, just click download OperaMini.
If not, scroll until you see a hyperlink that says get Opera Mini.
If the version is 3.0 don't worry, just download it and update the version.
Then you come to the white background with black and blue text. Self explanitory from there unless you run into other issues. Then post and pm a bbf moderator. Cause after that I'm lost as to what to do.

...and I'm in Italy with another carrier, (TIM) so what am I supposed to do here? Never thought downloading an application would be so difficult I have tried all the various solutions all afternoon, nothing, help!!! by the way I have downloaded opera but get failed to connect to the internet...

Did you set your APN yet? And if so, did you go to menu, settings, and network setup under opera mini?
