I'm surprised that two people told you how to clear IT policy without mentioning that if you're on a Corporate BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you can NOT do this. Your company will not allow you. If you follow the directions in the (duplicate) links above, you will not get your corporate email, and as soon as you reactivate your corporate email, the ban will go back in effect.

Also, be forewarned that depending on your company, attempting to circumvent IT Policy could be a terminable offense!

One has to initially believe the OP, who stated clearly "I bought this phone used and searched and found that the previous user may have configured this". So he, himself the current "owner" of the BB, may not be under any corporate environment.

JSanders is right. The OP clearly stated that he purchased the BB used and the previous user may have configured this. It's pretty clear.

Also, in the sticky that was linked it clearly states that this is not recommended if you are still on the corporate BES.

This poster got accurate and complete answers to his question.

Yep... that's how I read the OP's post. John's thread clearly states the caveat, too.

thanks for all the help guys, yes this phone is for personal use and not related to business at all. Majority of the time I'll be using it for stocks so accessing certain sites and forums was a big concern. Thanks for all the help and everything is working smooth..
