Cool Building a Custom Sync Connector

Please Login to Remove!

We're looking at building a custom application on top of Outlook that would need to sync additional extended fields in Outlook.

We would need to build a custom sync connector for the desktop. Is there any documentation around building something like this?

I work for a connector manufacturer. Exactly what type of connector would this be? like "USB" "Firewire" "D-Subminiature" "RJ45"?

We manufacture terminal blocks and I doubt that's what you need so give me more data and I will send you in the right direction.

No, I mean a software connector, not a physical cable.

Look at the javadoc for net.rim.device.api.synchronization and samples, bundled with JDE

Also you can connect via USB from device to desktop. see usbdemo sample. As far as I remember, it doesn't work properly, but it can push you to the right direction.
