Hi there.

On my 8100 Pearl my rolller has stopped working - it just doesn't work at all.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so have you done anything about it?

There's a way to remove the trackball and clean it. Do a search on here for trackball cleaning and hopefully that will fix your problem. If you have insurance on your phone, I would also suggest swapping it out.

well this happens to me every so often. If you press down hard on the trackball it may fix this, do it 4 times, once in each direction. Hope this helps

No need for insurance. It is a known issue and will be covered under warranty. I have replaced several for customers as well as one of my own under warranty. Call your carriers customer care department and ask to be transfered to blackberry support. They will then troubleshoot the phone and the result will be them sending you a new Pearl under warranty.

Instead of using the trackball to press on something, i use the enter button. Just pressing on the ball you feel that the mechanism is not meant for heavy fingers
