My pictures take FOREVER to load off of my memory card when I'm looking at them. Anyone else have this issue?

Yep, slow on my wife's 8100, as well.

Grass is growing, paint is drying, water is boiling...all happen faster than picture load on the display...

I noticed if you adjust the amount of thumbnails displayed (columns setting) it helps, but not a lot.

Yeah it is slow, just because it takes long for it to load the picture and resize it to the screen because of the resolution it takes it at and the screen size of the Pearl.

quick fix for this is to clear your event logs... you can do it by holding ALT and press L,G,L,G and then MENU and CLEAR LOGS. I had this problem with loading pics too and after clearing the log, you can see the drastic difference!

I don't think clearing the logs is the reason why you noticed your pictures loading faster. On the initial time of viewing your pictures via thumbnails, it always takes longer. But after it builds the initial index, the thumbnail pictures load faster.

Mine load slowly too.

Ugh, guess there's nothing we can do about it. Makes it tough to use the thing to show pictures of the kids.
