Emailing a picture doesn't work?
Please Login to Remove!
hi
whenever i try to email a picture (my media > my pictures > select a picture, menu button, email, type in email)
i receive the email but there is never a picture attached...
it says it is, but it's 1 KB and there's an empty attachment
any idea why this keeps happening?

You didn't say whether you are using BIS or BES. Have you tried sending the picture through the email app as opposed to "my media?" Meaning, go to compose, put in the address, then use the menu to attach the picture?
I've had different issues sending pictures from "my media" that go through just fine using the mail app. If you have both BES and BIS, you might try sending from a different account. Might check your data plan, too.

Can you go to:
Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications
And tell us if "Blackberry Attachment Service" is in the list?
This is a critical application for opening/handling attachments and may be missing, to reinstall, simply use your desktop manager and re-install it. (If this is the case, reply and someone can help you with the process)

I am having the same problem also using BIS through rogers.
When sending a picture it only sends a text file ATT1480609.txt.
I checked, blackberry attachment service version 4.2 is installed.

That's exactly the problem. I was on the old BIS server.

Presto. you must get them to switch you to the new webclient for this to work properly.

Just wanted to add my thanks...
I saw this issue and had been annoyed for a while. I just chalked it up to new technology bugs. But when I called Rogers, and read them this thread they had me on the new server in minutes, and everything is working perfectly now.
I actually heard a comment that they were going to force everyone onto the new server soon and that it was strange that they hadn't done it yet. I guess with the danger that some people may not be able to keep their email, this could be a bit of a wrench...
This was news to me, I never even knew they had a new server until I read this thread.

Okay, so the Rogers fellows fixed the problem by having Rogers "move them to the new server".
I am having the exact same problem with AT&T, but the AT&T rep I spoke to this afternoon "don't know nuthin' 'bout no new servers".
Anybody with AT&T fixed their problem yet?

For those of you who have (or had) this problem, could you send MMS's with attached photos?
I can't do that either. I can get them, but not send.
