Exclamation BB 7100i - EMail will not delete - Not Saved

Please Login to Remove!

Recently upgraded here at work from the clunky 7250 to a nice slim 7100i on the Nextel network. I loathe Nextel, but working for a construction company the 2 way comes in handy for our field guys so we all need to conform.

Anyways, I like to go in on a weekly basis and clear out the emails from the week prior so everything is fresh for Monday morning.

A few weeks ago I did just that (after my first week of having the phone) and all but two days of email deleted. I have tried to go back in and wipe the messages off one by one, but still no luck.

So then I figured I'd wait for the 15 day time limit I imposed in the settings to take effect and see if that got rid of them. No dice.

The messages are not flagged as saved and they are not in my saved folder.

Anyone have any ideas shy of wiping the handheld to get those messages off? I tried looking for a memory area somewhere on the handheld to see if I could just wipe messsages, but no luck.

TIA!

Open Desktop Manager, if you do not have that installed you can download it from BlackBerry. In Desktop Manager -Backup/Restore - Advanced then select your messages - select Clear. This will remove them from your phone.

LovingMyBB, thanks a ton! I'm not too familiar with the newest version of the Desktop Manager so thank you!

Was this feature in the old version of Desktop Manager? I'm currently running 4.2...

Again, many thanks!

Yeah, it has been in desktop manager for sometime now. Let me know if you have any questions/issues.

Default 7100i Message deleter

You shouldn't need to go thru Desktop Mgr to selectively delete messages. Just open your Message icon, and with trackwheel pick one of the date lines (not an individual e-mail), click and you will see a selection for "Delete Prior". Using this you can delete, with one more trackwheel click, all messages prior to that date.
Hope this helps.

I didn't indicate this in the original message, but that is how I clear messages out in a weekly basis. I would NEVER go through and remove messages one by one.

Any case, those messages wouldn't delete any other way with the exception of using the method discussed above.
