Yes, you should be able to. The BlackBerry allows for one BES server connection and up to 10 personal e-mail accounts using the BlackBerry Internet Service.

It depends on your BES environment.

You mean sync your e-mails from BB to the Gmail servers? I thought this wasn't possible since BIS is only a one-way sync?

I think as long as you enable mobile pop3 in your gmail settings it should work.

Regardless of what he means, GMail offers two-way reconciliation with BIS.
Messages sent/deleted from the handheld will be reconciled back to GMail.

For this user, functionality will depend on his BES configuration.

You don't need to enable POP at all. GMail and BIS will work fine without POP.

Again, for this user, functionality will depend on his BES configuration.

I use the Gmail app for my personal gmail account, and another gmail app for my hosted domain email, both work great.. I never needed to use it through pop/smtp..

What if BIS isn't used? For example, if I don't have a data account, can I use gmail with POP3?

Then you don't get any email.

You need BIS to get POP3 email on a blackberry.
It's quite simple.
No BIS = No POP3.

WiFi wouldn't make a difference here.
