Default Cingular 8700 updated OS

Please Login to Remove!

I recently got a 8700c Blackberry, apparently the voice reception is quite bad. I also cannot play .wav files on my BB!..I have read many posts in this forum and all say that cingular has not realeased a hot fix or new os for BB 4.1! from what i have read that the new OS will fix the voice quality as well as allow .wav files to be played!..
any comments?

Where, per chance, did you read that the new OS would allow .wav files to be played?

I think he meant you can use your 8700 while riding a "wav"e.

the base Cingular 4.1 release left out a lot of functionality that is found in other OS versions. if you mean play .wav files from a BES, no. if you mean otherwise, it should.

BB Tech support had also mentioned that the new OS or hot fix would allow ".wav" files to be played! but i see none being released soon..

For what it's worth, I put 4.1.0.286 on my 8700c and can now use wav files as ringtones.

Hope this helps.

It's not a hotfix. It's a new version of the handheld OS

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

So this solves the voicemail in a .wav file problem.

Only most of the people on this board.

There is a .300 or .310 somewhere around. I am running .286 from T-Mobile.

Cingular has been a bit behind in releasing updates. And T-Mobile, for obvious reasons, does not have a version posted.

I believe it allows you to play WAV files as ringtones. I am not sure if it fixes the "voicemail WAV file" dilemma.
