Default Cingular - Multiple Send From Address?

Please Login to Remove!

When I was with Tmobile, I can configure multiple email addresses to use with blackberry. For example I have the following addresses:

1. [email address]
2. [email address]
3. [email address]

If someone send me an email to [email address], when I reply, the send from address will be [email address] automatically; and if someone send me an email to [email address], when I reply, the send from address will be [email address]. So in effect, you have multiple send from addresses pre-configured.

Is this the same with cingular? I called Cingular Blackbarry data group and their explanation is not clear at all.

I'd greatly appreciate cingular blackberry users' input.

Thanks!

T-Mobile has been using BIS 2.0 for some time. If I am not mistaken, Cingular just completed the upgrade themselves. SO, you should have the exact same capability you described with Cingular.

Thanks for your reply. That is great news! Can anyone using Cingular now confirm this please?

Thanks!

Thanks for checking. That is too bad. I hope they do it soon. I am not going to subscribe without this feature.

I am with you Pengrus, I am very tempted to move to T-Mo for a while since Cingular has not updated their BIS yet. I need this capability soon. If the BIS is not updated by the end of May, I am leaving Cingular.

I haven't seen any official word from Cingular on when the upgrade will take place.

tc94040, if you don't mind me asking, how did you check to see if BIS 2.0 was available yet on Cingular. I am really interested in taking advantage of the new features when it becomes available (hopefully soon!) and would like to know an easy way to find out.

Thanks.

I logged into the Cingular Blackberry page (BIS) (http://cingular.com/blackberrystart/). From there, you need to go to the page where you can set the "from" address. There is only the three options (1. your BB email address, 2. pull-down for one of your POP'd addresses or 3. another address). But all email sent from the BB uses this address.

The only exception is if you use BIS *and* the desktop redirector (maybe BES too?). Then you can select between sending using the DR email address or BIS email address. But that's it.

If this is not possible, what is your current best approach to manage multiple email account messages?

All check out my Gmail/Yahoo page at my tips site. You can read about bbReply which is the only app you can use right now to change the reply to address (but not the from address) on Cingular.
