New software fixes (.64)
Please Login to Remove!
This email from a CS rep that helped me install it tells you what it fixes. Eat it up!
Trackball Silencing incoming call tone or alert
Mute key does not mute call
Web browser displays when selecting Set up Internet Email
Media card not playing mp3 files if copied over to some folders from computer to device
Run the setup wizard, turn on radio and select the correct time zone
Freeze when sending files over 300K over MMS
Freeze when playing .wma files
Cannot send files over Bluetooth® to another Pearl
Freeze when saving myFaves contact from the Address Book with more than 20 characters in the name
Multiple language support
Pressing red end key does not close browser session
I'd say this is an "underwhelming" update. If I had it to do again I wouldn't bother. The update froze my Pearl twice with the 507 error. I removed the battery, reset, no good, tried again without the battery (worthless idea), called Tmob, and did it again with no modifications, battery inserted and it worked, I don't have a browser now though. Save your money!

Upgraded all Pearls successfully to 4.2.0.64 (around 2 dozen globally) a few weeks ago. Upgrade is totally worth the cost.

So is it true the auto-backlight feature stays on with no option to turn it off? Is so, thats f'n annoying and maybe enough to prevent me from upgrading.

I've learned to deal with the disappointment of the auto dim not being disabled. It fixed too many other bugs that annoyed me more.

Okay, this is just retarded... you would think that an update that TMobile released would have fixed the MyFaves problem (showing the +1XXX-XXX-XXXX number in the messages application instead of the name, even though the number is in your address book).
Pissed. Off.

Here is one thing to remember guys you got your phones with the Tmobile Rim software originally. When it comes to having problems with you phone due to a non Tmobile upgrade and having to get the phone replaced they may not honor the warranty on your phone. Bottom line if you didn't buy it with O2 software or rogers software upgrade on it and the phone gets replaced due to a malfuction rendering it useless realistically they can deny your claim once they inspect the phone. This is my own thought but hey it can happen. i hsve the new tmobile update and it works great just like 02 did. The phone is still very new and there will be many upgrades to come. Lets be happy they even did an update as quick as they did.

I don't think you understand. The 02 and Tmob updates are identitcal. Not close, not almost, but identical. There is 0 difference.
Now, if you are talking about having a higher rev OS than your carrier provides (such as .64 on Rogers) then I can see your point, but another carriers save level rev on your phone is literally identical.

Thanks

I know , I know there is no difference between the O2 & Tmo .64 but, the TMO .64 does present with a a different problem than the O2. I had earlier pointed out that the trackball (O2) would go nuts in the browser after an image was zoomed. In the TMO .64 after an image is zoomed, the trackball loses left and right on an image. Up and down are OK and they are not erratic. go figure
I re-entered the browser to repeat the above and this time it got erratic again so ignore the above, I guess.
