MMS works fine for me, as does the VM indicator. My issue at the moment is that I cannot access the 'About' page. Can someone provide the Shortcut keys to access it?

I rather like the fact that I've got different color coded calendars for each email account.

If you delete VAD from the cod files, you won't have the Options > About access.
ALT + E A C E.
or
ALT + A C E works for some on OS 4.5
or
ALT + right SHIFT + H.

One thing I've noticed during the upgrade. The desktop manager pops up with an error failing to reconnect to the device during a multi-stage load operation.. when the device goes through the reboot after the restore process.

I'm loving .42 so far, youtube and the media player improvements (Hurr, forward and back, what a novel concept!) are worth it alone. Stability isn't QUITE as good as my 4.3.0.115 or whatever the latest 8120 one was, but it's damn close.

4th day with .42... No problems.. Battery life is fine.. Camera works great, no darkness problems... Video shot at sons birthday, 1 hour+, love the way you can stop and start recording! 10 minutes of video = 26mb. I can't complain.

Day 2 here, AT&T Curve 8310.. Havent gotten to try the video cam yet as I dont have a media card yet but.... VM indicator and missed call messages working as should.. Pretty much everything is still except BBMaps and Google still works so not going to bother with it.
I did notice now that my email indicator has changed a bit though. used to be if I got a new email, no matter how many were unread, if I just opened the mailbox and closed it, the Unread number at the top went away. Now it only gets rid of the red dot on it and leaves the unread number up. Easy enough to menu key and Mark Prior Opened anyways.
Battery seemed to work just fine all day yesterday between yapping with the girl on the phone, sudoku games and whatnot.. Didnt notice any change in where it might have normally run down too.
Memory leak dont know.. Mines between 8-9MB free since upgrading. Is there a test or something I can do to watch it in action??

This thread may help you re BBMaps 4.5 (lack of Service Book) : http://www.blackberryforums.com/beta...-os-4-5-a.html
I am not sure IF you have tried what was suggested in that thread.

Try changing :
Mailbox > Options > General Options > Display Message Count > None (probably set to oUnread currently).

Been using .42 since Sunday 6-8. I have no complaints. My trusty old 8300 is running better than ever.

Too funny Sith... Now I have to wipe the coffee I spit, off my monitor.
8310 ...and .42 has shown no issues for me (other than incompatible themes).

Hello Blackberry Forums Members and Mods!
I have been perusing this site for about 8 months now and have learned droves about blackberrys. It seemed time to break down and sign up for an account and join in the fun. Since this is the thread that holds the most interest for me, I decided to post here first.
I realize that it may be a bit presumptive and that I'll probably know from these forums first. But, does anyone know the process that AT&T (my carrier) will use to notify its subscribers when the official release of 4.5 is available?

Does anyone know if the video streaming works on a 8700 with 4.5? It's about the only feature that would tempt me to upgrade, and it's not clear from the forums if the video player works at all on the 8700... (would you really need a flash card to stream?)
Also, anyone know if Y!Messenger works on 4.5? (current betas)
Thanks!

Wirelessly posted (8310; The Juggernaut)
JW68, they likely won't notify users of its release, at all. At least that has been my experience from TMo and ATT. You will learn it here first.
Greetings, and welcome to the BBforums.

I've been using .42 for 1 week now and here's my experience so far on the 8100.
The good:
I love the new UI on all of the BB apps and the new features in the BB browser.
Custom home screen folders are cool.
It's much faster(with most themes) than previous betas.
Memory is more stable than .37.
The sim card still working(knock wood)
Live Search works great in .42. its become my default mapping app. GPS works flawlessly.
The Bad:
Pictures taken with the phones camera all have a dark blue hue. I see no setting to correct this.
After battery pulls and resets with the soft reset app the Media scanning problems return and all of the music on my media card becomes inaccessible. The workaround is to delete all of the .dat files and the phone will rescan the media card and all will be back to normal.
GMaps GPS tracking is jerky. My location jumps around on the map.
BBMaps GPS tracking can't find the satellites about 70% of the time.
Some themes make the phone more sluggish than others, that's probably not a .42 specific issue.
All in all this has been the most stable beta, so far, for me.
