Default Messenger Live VS Jive Talk

Please Login to Remove!

I've been using both for quite a while. Mainly using RIM Live Messenger when I am in town because of my unlimited data plan. I also purchased Jivetalk because it will also support TCP connection when I am traveling overseas.
Simply because I am too cheap to pay for roaming BIS data, I will normally just get a valued-added SIM card from the country I visit and let JiveTalk to run on its TCP data.

Now here is my question, I find Jivetalk running on TCP drains my battery about 10 times faster than Live messenger on BIS data. It could barely last 8 hours continuously logged on.

Can someone please verify my above theory is true?
Is this the problem of Jivetalk that drinks more juice or its the problem of using TCP data.

Thanks a million.
