All, Thanks a lot for a heaps of information ! man, this is amazing..

I got myself a 8700c recently (few days back) and still toying around !!

question is can i transfer files from my Laptop to 8700c i.e images, mp3 etc using just the data cable ?

Nope, not possible. This is prohibited by design.

There is third party software that will allows you to move images. Search on GT Photo and Ascendo. Nothing for ringtones.

i installed ascendo (trail vesion) using desktop manager and BOMB goes !! the berry is not coming up !!

IT IS SAYING "Connecting to Desktop"

HELP PLEASE...
