Default Insurance from Cingular?

Please Login to Remove!

Im not too familiar with the (what is it $3.99/month) insurance from Cingular. I'm wondering if I got it and my 8100 accedently drops or the track ball stops working, do they cover the phone? Will I get a replacment or maybe a check from them for the amount the 8100 costs with no contract? I know they wont carry the phone until 07...what happens? I have to wait till 07, then they give me a 8105 (or whatever model CINGY calls it) ??

All BlackBerry devices have a 1 year warranty from purchase date. Because of this, I never understood the additional insurance you can buy.

you'd have to get both insurance and service from T-Mobile if you lose/break the phone in order to get a replacement. also, you'd have to pay a deductible of I think $110.

The insurance covers things that the factory warranty won't cover like dropping the phone in water. If you do use the insurance to get a new device, I don't believe you can pro-rate the value to upgrade to a different device.

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 7130c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

And cingular won't insure a device they don't carry, and when they do carry it, It won't be insurable. Cingular won't insure any high end devices.

Cingular offered me insurance on my 8700c. Should I drop it? Are you saying Cingular won't cover it?

I'm sure they will cover it.. but your going to have to pay for the deductible. Tmo has $5.99 monthly insurance and $110 deductible.
