TMobile's TCP can be unreliable at times.

I'm guessing there is a file on the media card giving you trouble.

It started opening window, after window after window. I couldn't get it to stop and it finally just completely locked up. I had no choice but to manually shut it down and restart.

Now, when I connect the phone to my laptop, it does not recognize that anything is connected. The pearl's screen is stuck on a page that says "Blackberry Platform 2.7.0.68 and then has a list of all the apps. If you try to click any of them you either get an error loading it or an uncaught exception. I tried a battery pull and still get the same thing.

Any suggestions, please!

Susan, you may need to use Jl_cmder, if it won't connect on its on to the laptop: How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

You will be ok, it has saved many a BB. You will lose all data on the BB, unless you have a recent backup (and you should, if the previous upgrade had completed the backup process. Look on your laptop for the *.ipd file it saved to your PC, probably in the My Documents folder). After you are back up and running, you can use Desktop Manager > Restore/Advanced to reload the Address Book, messages, etc.

You should be fine.

Default 4.5.0.81 on ROGERS

Installed 4.5.0.81 OS on ROGERS Pearl 8100 two days ago and love it. Working well with no issues. Facebook, WindowsLiveMessenger. I did have to lose my ColorPearl app though.

Now just waiting for m.youtube.com to work ...

Thanks for the link OP.

Talking

After a lot of pain I finally got this release installed. I kept getting error 507 followed by error 561. After a couple of battery pulls and then removing the SIM card before my final install attempt, I now have it working. Much more pain than it should have been, but now my camera is working again. Phew!

SV_Trinity - I tried going to YouTube (youtube.com rather than m.youtube.com) and it worked fine!

The camera in some of the OS releases was dark. Scroll back through this and earlier 4.5 threads and you will see the comments.

Oh, I should have noted that you can scroll through this thread and previous OS 4.5 threads and see the user comments on the feature changes, etc., and what is new.

Good luck.

I currently have (and been had since its release) 4.2.1.96. I have no issues with this release. Is there any good reason to update to the latest version?

Default Audio Boost

I've scanned but cannot find an answer for this problem.

Since installing 4.5.0.55 on my 8100 everything has run very well, but there has been a noticeable decrease in the volume of my media player, specifically I notice this when using the headset.

In an 83xx forum they said this could be improved by checking the "audio boost" in the media player options, but I don't have this option...I think.

Does anyone know how to boost the volume on an 8100 or any other solution to this problem?
Thanks
