Default Can i check emails on my BB using only gprs ?

Please Login to Remove!

I have no BES or BIS etc.

Mine is an unlocked gsm phone which i just use with standard gsm. I do have gprs though. Now my question is, can i configure my blackberry email application to check my email ids via gprs ? Also point to note is that the email ids are of my own business website so its not a wap enabled site or something like yahoomail. But i just want to be able to download my email eg [email address].

I use outlook express to view my emails with no issues. But sometimes if im travelling it would be an added bonus if i could check emails.

If this is not possible id like to delete the email setup application etc and atleast gain the additional memory space which i can put to better use.

Thanks

To be able to integrate ur email to ur device u need to create BIS(Blackberry Internet Service) account. U have to have data plan on ur device to be able to receive email on ur device.
Contact ur service provider for data plan

Also, no, you cannot delete the email setup application.
It simply won't let you.

Wirelessly posted (8520 (5.0.0.411))

Also the amount of space you would gain by deleting the app would be insignificant anyway.

Ok I understand. Thanks. But i thought the more unneccesary programs the more room for the BB to stall, slow down etc.

True but as mentioned the setup wizard takes very up little space compared to a normal app. So even if you were able to delete it, the increase in free memory would be negligible.

Thats a legit reason to leave it behind and ive done that since it doesnt have a large memory footprint.
