Default Eliminating Long headers...

Please Login to Remove!

When I receive emails from work that have been sent to numerous employees I have to scroll through all of the names in the "sent to" list. With a company that employs 2000 people, and a message addressed to "all", this can mean scrolling through several screens before I see the body of the message. Any way to navigate or eliminate or shrink this info?

Thanks!

Interesting. I've never seen that.... usually when I receive an email sent to a large distribution list, only a certain number of recipients show, and then I see 'list truncated'.

Do you know what version of Blackberry Enterprise Server your company is using? Also, what is the mail platform - Exchange, Lotus, or Groupwise?

And welcome to the forums

Have you opened your menu when your looking at your email the option to shorten header? That might help.

Smile more info

Wow! Thanks for a fast reply. You make a good point. I have used an agent (from my work pc using Lotus notes) to forward my work email to my home laptop (using outlook). I am not connected to our company BB server until later this week. Maybe this will change once officially connected?

Thanx!

I like dani's suggestion, too. In your list of messages, go into Options -> General Settings -> Display Message Header On.

But now that I think about it, where are you seeing the recipients? In an email or in a calendar appointment? The only time I see the 'list truncated' thing is for an appt that is sent to a lot of people.

Default More info #2

I did change header to 1 line. This shrinks or reduces my list of messages in my in box. I do not see however, an option to hide the header in the heading of an email. Maybe I am missing something?

Again, I appreciate your willingness to assist.

Thanks!

Kyle

Maybe I'm missing something

To confirm, when you receive an email (not a calendar appt) and you open the email, you have to scroll down to view the message?

Default Yes...

Thanks for asking for clarity. My scenerio is that when I receive an email message (you are correct NOT a calendar appt.) that was sent to let's say 30other people...I have to scroll past each of their names. It seems like it takes an eternity just to get to the "meat" of the message.

Thanx!

This sounds like very unusual behavior. I have used BB's for 4 years (both BES and BIS) and have never had this happen.

I'm stumped.....

I think its because the message is being forwarded to your Outlook account. When you get connected to the BES server this wont be an issue.

When I open messages sent to 50 people the top most thing I see is the subject line followed by the message body. To see show who the message was sent to I actually have to scroll UP.
