WOW!!!! I never thought or meant to generate such passion re: my question. Thanks to everyone who understands how difficult and challenging it is to raise teenagers. I learned a lot from reading all the posts, some of which were not in favor or belief of my desire to know what my daughter is doing, but I will continue to respectfully watch over my daughter, knowing full well that it is my job to keep her safe and alive. As I'm sure we can all agree, that in today's world, is harder than ever.

I agree 101% percent with what you are saying--as it regards family matters. For me, it's "been there done that". I have a 22 yo and and 8 yo. I knew exactly what was going on, my son knew it and from time to time we talked about it when I recognized something objectionable.

My point in the first post is this... which you and some in this thread have missed, is that WE don't know who "lovesherhusband" is. This could be the daughter spying on Mom, the wife spying on the husband, or who knows who it is. Could be your wife.

Many of us with a few more posts than one see this daily. So there "could be" more to this than Mom keeping tabs on little Jessica. You and I just don't know.

And you know what, I'll be a bit more honest here... there is a way to do EXACTLY what she needs. I know how. And it is not difficult.

Will I tell my best friend which I know personally and understand the real need? Yea.
Will I tell a complete stranger here, unknown to any of us what the true intentions are? No.

I don't think anyone has missed your point at all but we are not talking about any of the following or close to them,

In fact we are talking about keeping a child safe and when it comes to keeping children safe I'd much rather error on the side of cation than to make no error at all. Need more reason's why to error just look at the following web page.

Yup I figured I'd get the "who are you you have no posts" . I've had my Storm for nearly three weeks. I've spent an will-never-admit-it's-too-embarrassing number of hours glued to 2 other major BB sites trying to learn how to use it. Not that I doubt you, but I have yet to run into this question on either of those sites. This afternoon I signed up for Blackberry group in Yahoo reader and this forum & post popped up. Since the topic of teenage "privacy" is a common discussion topic among my friends and coworkers this question and the responses caught my attention.

I understand what you are saying and agree that you don't know know who anyone is, however you could have been up front and said there IS a way but I can't share for these reasons, instead of "we don't condone spying" and "be a good parent and talk to your kid" which is what jumped out at me.

Ummm I'm pretty sure I didn't misread the first few responses.....

my goodness, while I appreciate the thoughtfullness, that paranoia will kill you some day. I do love my husband, I do have two teenage daughters, and I do run a rape crisis center for a living, and I am all too aware of the dangers of being a teenager with an uninvolved parent. Please choose to err on the side of caution...you might save a life....

Walk a day in my shoes, and you will. The raging husband who is threatening his wife because she is hiding her texts... those posts are here, too. I answer questions all day to users. Yours is just different. We were discussing this same subject the other day about how many more questions we get here now from new users asking questions just as yours. And believe me, 90% of them are not as innocent as yours.

In regard to what JSanders is saying, the problem is on a public forum like this, anyone could register and claim to be whatever. I could be a child molester trying to befriend a young teenager on MySpace. Recently it was in the news that 90,000 registered sex offenders were removed from MySpace in a few months.

Now, this is not MySpace, but I could register here and portray myself as a loving parent when in reality I might be a perv trying to find out how to spy on a teenager I met on the internet. Anyone who is a moderator on a forum for very long can easily become jaded because of all the scammers, spammers, weirdos and nut jobs we deal with on a regular basis, including people who want to get the passwords of stolen devices, spy on their significant other for all the wrong reasons, etc., etc.

I completely understand where JSanders is coming from and I feel the same way. Regarding the OP, she comes across as very sincere, truthful and caring.

Ok I get that there may be concerns with answering the OP's question. And I get that there are serious issues caused by the anonymous nature of the internet. However this is a Blackberry forum and I honestly don't get the connection of perv/teenager angle and Blackberry. Maybe I'm tired ... but how does mother/wife/husband/boss wanting to read texts on a child/husband/wife/employee phone connect to pervs?

the question in this forum was about child safety yes as for the porn one yes i did offer a site but that thread was asking for porn site that work on blackberry lets not confuse the 2 to be the same further more i have not been able to log into my other screen name as you put it pm to me because you all did something to it that will not let me log into it like oh i dont know ..... banned me on it ? and now you want to do the same here because i stepped on your toes and you call us the nutjobs ? strange just strange
