I'm trying to wipe this handheld before it goes to one of the Directors here. I did the wipe handheld and now when the hour glass stops turning I get a message "JVM Error 102" any idea on how to make this baby work?
So, in searching google. I found this answer, sorta answer.
Answer: 102 Invalid code in filesystem The system has checked the .COD files in the handheld for modification, and determined that there is a problem with one or more .COD files. If all loads fail, it could indicate a build process error where there was a problem signing the codfiles. If some user action to the device caused this problem, the reset cycle will be continuous since the code in the filesystem has been corrupted. The only recovery method is to wipe the device and restore a new system.
1. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double-click Intellisync, and then click Auto start.
2. Make sure the only option checked is Update handheld's date and time.
3. Click OK, then click Close.
After completing the steps below, if you want to synchronize your BlackBerry again, make sure to reselect the auto start options you deselected above, or your device will continue to only update the date and time when cradled.
To clear personal data from your BlackBerry, follow the directions below:
1. Cradle your device. (Edit: This does not apply to a 7100 series BlackBerry.
Thought I'd add this cause it confuses people).
2. If the BlackBerry you are clearing is not the one you are currently using, you will see a Redirector Settings pop-up that says your email account is set up to use a different device and asking if you want to change it to work with this device. Click No.
3. Double-click Application Loader, then click Next.
4. If prompted, enter your password.
5. On the Handheld Application Selection screen, click Next.
6. You will see the message "No actions are required." Click Advanced. If you have an 850 or 950 series device, click Next on the Handheld Storage Allocation screen.
7. On the Handheld Data Preservation screen, click to check Erase all application data. Click Next.
8. On the Application Data Backup screen, select Do not automatically back up and restore the handheld application data during the loading process. Click Next.
9. Click Finish. Make sure you do not remove the handheld from the cradle until the clearing process is finished.
Or you can use JL_Cmder from my signature to delete everything from the BlackBerry. Afterward you get a 505 or 507 error, this is normal. Finally follow the instructions in the link Erica provided to reinstall the OS.
I already have the DM on my system since I use another Blackberry. When I go to application loader it runs through it's scan and says I don't have anything.
This is what I get now when I run the application loader. "No system software was found for your device.
Contact your system administrator or service provider
for information on obtaining device system software."
Sir, you are getting the "No system software was found for your device," message because you need to download the handheld software for this model bb to your computer. It can then be transferred to the bb via application loader. Your best bet is to contact your service provider.
For example, if you are a nextel customer, you can go to www(dot)nextel(dot)com/blackberry and click, "software updates for blackberry 7100i and 7520." You can then select your model and download the handheld system software to your computer. After downloading, you would install the file on your computer, which makes it available when you use application loader. Hope this helps.
